Meet our gorgeous ying and yang kittens Timmy and Daffodil, who come as a pair after bonding in their foster home. Timmy (tabby and white) is about 3 months old and came into our care with his mum, and Daffodil (tabby) is a 7 month old girl who came in as a super scaredy stray. Timmy is a typical boisterous, mischievous and affectionate kitten, who will demand attention with an incredibly loud meow for his size. He’s very playful and loves a bit of rough and tumble with the other cats.
On the other hand Daffodil is quite a nervous girl, and there is a chance that prospective adopters might only be able to catch a tiny glimpse of her when they visit as she’s very cautious around new people and her default strategy is to run and hide away. However, once she warms up to you (and this can take weeks) she uncovers her sweet and loving nature – she likes to clean your fingers and toes, and loves curling up near you on the sofa or bed, or in any cardboard box she can find.
If she’s feeling extra brave she might lay on you, but it has to be on her terms. It’s unlikely that she will ever enjoy being picked up as she finds it quite distressing, so any prospective owner needs to be respectful and understanding of her needs. She will need high places where she can hide away so she can control her level of interaction with people. With lots of love and patience she will probably grow in confidence in the long term, but you might not see much of her in her first week or two of being in a new home.
Timmy and Daffodil are both great with other cats, so could be introduced to a home with existing animals. They’re looking for a home with a safe outdoor space to explore, far away from busy roads, particularly for Daffodil who can be so easily spooked.
So if you’re looking for a pair of kittens whose temperaments perfectly complement each other, these could be the felines for you – they are both vaccinated, neutered and microchipped, and ready for their furever homes.
