Pickering is approximately 18 years old and has two teeth. He was found dumped on a road, exhausted and panting and was handed into us by a well known animal charity yesterday (23/08/09). He has had to be sedated and groomed out because he was very matted. His blood tests came back as very good for a cat of his age indicating that he has no obvious kidney/liver problems. He did have fleas which have been sorted and he had to be wormed.
He is due a vet check tomorrow because his remaining two teeth have receding gums and the roots are showing meaning that these two teeth may have to be removed too. He has been first vaccinated. Pickering is an extremely affectionate cat and gets on well with other cats and is tolerant of dogs, but worries if they are too full on. He is a proper people cat and bellows for as much attention as he can get.
He is clean in the home and has a brilliant appetite. Pickering was due to be put to sleep today because he was old and unlikely to be rehomed. We will prove this theory wrong hopefully.
